About us

St Mary’s Church Pre-School opened in 2002 as a committee-run registered charity in the Parish Room of St Mary’s Church with which it maintains close links.

The Pre-School relocated to the grounds of St Mary’s C.E (A) Primary School in 2005 and, in September 2011, moved into a brand new purpose built building.

Three and four year old children are eligible for up to 15 hours’ free education ( funded by government grant ). Three and four year old children may also be eligible for 30 hours’ funding (please visit Fees and Funding pages of the website for more information). Further hours are offered on a fee-paying basis. Some funding is also offered for two year old children in certain cases.

We offer morning and full-day sessions, depending on your child’s age. We encourage parents to bring their children for two or three sessions each week to start with, building up as the children move towards primary school.
